ORBIZ Bolsters Team with the Appointment of Lean Veteran

ORBIZ are pleased to announce the recent appointment of Ivan Wooldridge to the role of Principal Consultant, where he will specialise in leading operational performance improvement programs based on Lean and continuous improvement principles in the mining, energy, construction and transport sectors.

Ivan brings a wealth of knowledge to the team with over 30-years of experience applying Lean thinking across many industries in Australia and the UK. An expert in developing and implementing management operating systems based on Lean principles in the resources sector, Ivan has led a series of transformation programs to help organisations stabilise performance and establish a springboard for continuous improvement.

Having graduated from Manchester University with a BSc Hons Aeronautical Engineering Degree, Ivan began his career in the steel industry. In an 8-year career with British Steel, he progressed from a graduate trainee to Operations Manager.

Moving into the automotive industry, Ivan then spent 10-years developing his Lean management knowledge through a series of leadership roles with Nissan, Michelin and Toyota. During this time, Ivan was immersed in the Toyota Production System for 5-years as a Senior Production Leader providing him with a first-hand understanding of Toyota’s Lean philosophies, principles, and techniques.

Since moving to Australia in 2005, Ivan has held leadership roles with Rio Tinto, Newcrest, Shell, Origin Energy, and Woodside, tasked with leading performance improvement and transformational change by implementing Lean and Continuous Improvement systems and practices.
